The MTN Foundation/MUSON Music Scholars Programme is a fully funded, full-time two-year Diploma in Music that provides advanced professional training in both music theory and performance.
Students can specialize in various disciplines including:
- Piano
- Organ
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
- Double Bass
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Trombone
- Percussion
- Classical Guitar
- Voice
The curriculum also includes ensemble performance, choir participation, orchestra or band training, music theory, musicianship, and practical performance to prepare graduates for careers in music or further university studies.

Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be Nigerian citizens.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Possess at least five (5) credits in SSCE or GCE, including English Language, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Hold a Grade 5 (or higher) certificate in both Music Theory and Practical from MUSON or another recognised music examination body (such as ABRSM or Trinity College London).
- Demonstrate strong musical ability and be willing to undertake full-time professional music training.
- Successfully pass the entrance examination, practical audition, and interview.
Selection Process
Shortlisted applicants will participate in:
- Written examination covering Music Theory and General Music Knowledge.
- Practical audition on their major instrument or voice.
- Oral interview with the selection panel.
Candidates who successfully complete all stages will receive admission into the Diploma Programme.
